RCB’s Win Sparks Viral Reactions to Vijay Mallya’s Tweet

The Indian Premier League (IPL) never fails to bring out strong emotions from cricket fans, and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) emphatic win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was no exception. However, what grabbed even more attention than the match itself was a tweet from former RCB owner Vijay Mallya, which quickly went viral.

Vijay Mallya’s Tweet on RCB’s Win

After RCB’s impressive victory, Vijay Mallya took to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the team’s performance, posting:

“Congratulations to RCB for the emphatic win over KKR. Glad to hear the commentators finally say that RCB bowled well. The batting line-up speaks for itself.”

While some fans appreciated his message, a section of users couldn’t resist trolling him with witty and sarcastic replies—many of them referencing his unpaid loans and legal troubles.

Trolls Take Over: Hilarious Responses to Mallya’s Tweet

Mallya’s tweet quickly became a meme-fest, with users flooding the replies with humorous digs at his financial controversies. Some of the standout reactions included:

🔸 “Paise kab wapas kar rha hai buddhey?” (When are you returning the money, old man?)

😂 Users didn’t hold back, with some asking about loan repayments in response to Mallya’s tweet.

🔸 SBI: “लगे हाथ पिछला उधार भी लौटा दो” (While you’re at it, return the previous loan too), accompanied by a dog holding a bowl meme.

🔸 “Sir, come back soon. We want all of us to lift the trophy together. The team, you, and SBI.”

These replies turned the comment section into a roast session, with users creatively combining cricket banter with Mallya’s financial past.

Supporters Speak Up: Defending Vijay Mallya

Amid the trolling, some users came to Mallya’s defense, highlighting the financial recovery made by Indian banks from his assets. One user wrote:

“People should stop taunting Vijay Mallya— the government has already recovered ₹14,131 crore, which is more than the ₹9,980 crore loan he defaulted on.

His mistake was investing in Kingfisher Airlines, which failed, but otherwise, he was highly successful with United Breweries. The criticism seems more about wanting to see him in jail for a failed business rather than financial recovery.

On the other hand, the Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi cases are entirely different—they were involved in outright fraud, selling tampered diamonds.”

Mallya acknowledged and appreciated this defense, replying:

“Thank you for your factual comments.”

Mallya & RCB: A Bond That Still Exists

Despite his legal troubles and exile, Vijay Mallya’s connection with RCB remains strong. As the former owner of the franchise, he played a significant role in establishing the team’s brand. His occasional tweets about RCB show that he still follows the team passionately.

While RCB fans continue their quest for an IPL trophy, the internet ensures that Mallya’s tweets will always come with a mix of nostalgia, controversy, and humor.
